A South African tradition, yesterday marked the 10th annual Mandela day, with many companies and organizations and everyday folks pitching in for their 67 minutes of charity work. Amongst many of these efforts, schools were a primary focus. Aiming to enrich and grow the lives of the youth, here are some of the 67-minute stories aimed at helping the future!
Sans Souci Girls’ High School
A surprise visit by one of South Africa’s most recognizable talents, Jimmy Nevis spent his day and time with the students and staff of Sans Souci Girls’ High School, giving them all a stunning, fun-filled concert and spending his day with fans and students.
Perseverance Primary:
At Perseverance Primary, Vodacom and their stuff took to spending time with the younger generation, reading and interacting with learners and helping spread the importance of literacy and understanding.
Parkfields Primary
A small school, it and its learners took to giving and went to the orphanage, donating toilet rolls and giving a helping hand to those less fortunate. Hearts bigger than themselves, they prove you don’t need to be extravagant to do a good deed.
Edubiz Media
Our own team here at EduBiz Media, in association with Junior Achievers South Africa, was present at Imperial Primary, handing out gift packs with plenty of goodies for the kids after an informative and inspiring session on business and entrepreneurship by one of JA’s own leads and facilitators.

Cedar Primary
Taking a route of giving back to the place that has given so much, students of Cedar Primary took part in cleaning and helping bring their school back some of its old luster. From classrooms to chairs, they worked diligently and hard, with plenty of laughs and it really shows.
Beyond the Edge Tutoring
Beyond the Edge Tutoring took to donating and giving out stationary and paper packs to teachers and students at All Saints Primary. Director of “Beyond the Edge Tutoring”, Edmunt has been pushing for the growth and improvement of both the education system and all that take part in it and continues to strive in every avenue available to make sure it does.
